Mercedes-AMG introduced the “W205”-based C63 for the 2015 model year, shortly after it morphed into a sub-brand within Mercedes-Benz. Offered as a sedan and as a coupe, the C63 surfed the downsizing wave sweeping across the industry by trading displacement for forced induction, yet it was quicker and sharper to drive than its predecessor. Production ended in 2021, and Mercedes-AMG has confirmed that it won’t build another V8-powered C63. Power comes from a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8, rated at 503 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. The engine spins the rear wheels via a 7-speed automatic transmission.
